| Popcorn is the main product of Celle, San Vito; a small village of two hundred people set high in the mountains of Southern Italy. Michael Puorro left this village in 1895 to discover a new life in America. His love of popcorn was handed down to his son Noel (now known as Grandpa Po).
In 1963, Grandpa Po, a chemist, wanted to create a nutritional snack food as an alternative to candy for his six children. Po experimented with popcorn and invented a unique golden half popped nugget. He combined them with soybeans for added nutrition, decades before they were popular, and sprinkled the mix lightly with sea salt ("slightly unsalted" as Po prefers) and Nutra Nuts were born. His family never tasted anything like it. Grandpa Po's Nutra Nuts soon became a tasty tradition to share with family and friends. We felt it was time to share them with you. Now known as Grandpa Po's Originals, this snack is loved from coast-to-coast in America. Our testing committee includes family members from New Jersey, Michigan and California.
Everybody goes "Corny" for Grandpa Po's
Originals. |
